Meritorious Audible Sirens

There is change. Change in prompting a rescue action toward medical excellency for the people.
Waves of sound of the sirens was heard by other road users and it began from volume mute. Bit by bit, the sirens became more apparent. Within seconds, as soon as the sirens became louder, most road users could tell from which direction it comes from. Picking up fast from behind, the ambulance was running in the inner lane and overtook every vehicles and slowed down behind 1 or 2 vehicles waiting for the lights to turn green. The driver is doing a good deed. He also know which is the shortest route to the patient or to the hospital. But once in a while, 1 or 2 drivers reacted slowly to give way even though the driver of the ambulance is horning right behind them. The shortest time to get medical aids is important in any emergency.

The 1 Care 1 Malaysia plan has deduced that 15 % of the population woud be 60 and above in the year 2030. Instead of assuming that 18 years is a long time, the government has further places importance on the expansion and the development of health care. The British has transferred to Malaysia a system of medical care since August 1957 and health care standards have improved year after year from the first Health Minister right up to the current Minister. A great leap in improvement is noted with Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai as the Health Minister. He is hoping a larger allocation under Budget 2013 to be announce soon.
There is a significant change of the health standards, with Liow’s untiring effort to serve the rakyat and significant improvement to health care have taken place. A common first example is the the fitness of the ambulance. Ambulances that are running on roads are better in appearance as compared to previous ones and this show that within a short 2 years of the 2011 – 2015 10th Malaysia Plan, standards of health care have generally improved.

An ambulance is a vehicle to transport the sick or injured people to, from or between places of treatment and the flashing warning lights and sirens are the first signs of first aid. These lights and sirens are meeting new standards since their first use by the Spanish in 1487. From streets observations, the Malaysian ambulances are continuously improving their images and mobile facilities since Liow assumed the Office of the Health Ministry from 18 March 2008. Modern audible siren equipments and warning lights are being fitted and in use as research has shown that ambulances are more prone to collisions compared to fire trucks or police cars. Two-ways radio support the issuing of jobs to the ambulances and feed instant informative data to the emergency unit hospitals.
With the increasing traffic and the expanding cities, maybe air ambulance like helicopter would become a common feature of the modern health care. The health services is transforming.
