Jonker Walk is known to many. First is was much known to the Malaccans. Next Jonker Walk became known to Malaysians. Soon, Singaporeans and other ASEAN countries get to know the famous Walk. But I think its fame has become wider and rippled to the limits of Asia. It is only recently that we have rediscovered one of the Truly Asia places. Perhaps a handful from London to Lahore, Moscow to Manila or Namibia to New Zealand do know about the Walk. Fewer number could has got there to walk the Walk. I guess less than 1 % of Asia 4,140,336,501 population have got into Jonker Walk.

Nevertheless, the rate of visitors zooming into Jonker Walk is promising even on weekdays. The Jonker's visitors make up a huge source to board the nostalgic, calming and relaxing river cruise to reminiscence events to as early as the year 1400. So, Jonker Walk awakened by a 'gentle dragon' is now feeding consumers to many sectors of trade within the UNESCO's inscribed as heritage zone. The 'gentle dragon' in Chinese language is 文龙 and when written in English language to produce a similar sound would take the spelling, Boon Leong. With a surname, Gan, affixed to it, Boon Leong become Gan Boon Leong.

Mr. Gan Boon Leong is the former Mr. Asia. He is the founder of Jonker Walk. The next time if you see a person googling to search 'Who is the founder of Jonker Walk ?', get him or her to copy this title 'Gentle Dragon founded Jonker Walk' and paste it onto the Google Search.

Today, Jonker is still changing, mutating, crstallizing ... you name it, as its' rich heritage is powering the future landscape and in due course, a single visit will not be adequate. The assets on this street, Jonker Walk is waiting to unravel its beauty to you. Only time will tell.

Right now, it is undeniable that Singaporeans occupy the first place as highest number of foreign visitors to Melaka.
