Election and Voters

Electors are persons who have the right of voting at elections. In politics and in the annual general meetings of businesses, the choosing of representatives or officials is a process of the election. Although the methods of election may vary, a bare majority of votes is enough to secure election.

On the other field, a show of hands usually suffices at election of company directors in businesses. It differs from the political election as the shareholders have votes in proportion to their interest in the company.

Public Elections are conducted in countries where the rule of the people or democracy is the form of government.

Thus, a vote, is an act of indicating a preference at elections for representatives to law-making bodies by a ballot.
